Posted on Mar 26, 2013 in Education, Events

Men, come join me, Traffick Free and CAASE next Monday night, 4/1 at 22thirty9 at 2239 Michigan Avenue at 7pm to learn more about addressing the demand for human trafficking…Men.  We will be starting to have real conversations to build awareness and foster change.

Sex Rebranded - A Men's EventFellas bring your buddies & co-workers. Ladies, if you were invited and believe that human trafficking is not a women’s issue, but a human issue, send an invite to your husbands and guy pals to this men’s event!

Traffick Free invites you to a night of introduction and discussion about human trafficking from a guy’s perspective. We will introduce an expert panel including Chris Baker of Ink 180, who will be sharing about his experiences as a tattoo artist working with FBI and Chicago area law enforcement to use his talents to facilitate healing for victims of human trafficking and ex-gang members by removing or covering up their “branding” free of charge. Since starting Ink 180 in October of 2011, Chris has done over 500 tattoo removals and cover-ups!

Caleb Probst of CAASE (Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation) will also be on the panel. Caleb first became involved with CAASE in 2007 while helping to research the behavior of men who buy sex (“johns”) in the Chicago area. He directed “Body and Sold” in 2008 – a play that told the stories of eight prostituted young people in America. In 2010, he wrote “The Strings Attached” and produced it and “The Johns” under the title “Private Lies:  Two Plays about Prostitution and Johns.” As CAASE’s Education Outreach Associate, he is bringing their new curriculum to high schools and empowering young men to become allies in ending sexual exploitation and violence.

1 drink and appetizers will be provided and a cash bar available. There is a $10 suggested donation at the door for this event. If you pre-registered for this event in February, we ask that you pre-register again for this one to save your spot!

This event is for MEN ONLY as there will be sensitive discussions around pornography and purchasing sex and we want this to be as open and comfortable as possible. ID’s will be checked at the door. Men under 21 may attend, they will be served non-alcoholic beverages.
